My Breast Cancer Support are extremely proud to have collaborated with “The Dance Studio Leeds” over the past few years. The venue takes positive action, to provide fabulous vibes to improve mental and physical health. It is an inclusive space for all ages, genders and ethnicities, and offers a warm welcome for our cancer patients.
The Dance Studio continues our vision and fosters unfailing energy to make a difference. Classes run on a Thursday evening, with free car parking, and accessible facilities.
Funding is scarce, and it is trying times for charities. Katie Geddes established the studios in 2009 and hosts an annual celebration of dance event at Leeds City College. Patients were empowered to take part. Exercise is proven to reduce the risk of recurrence. Regaining movement and independence is manifested through music that encourages cognitive improvement, to mask the side effects of treatment.
Sara our Founder and Chair and all of us at My Breast Cancer Support are eternally grateful for the fabulous donation of £3705.17 raised from the dance event. This will ensure that dance and holistic therapies continue at the Dance Studio Leeds throughout 2026, and at venues in Wakefield. Everyone is focused on living longer and more positive lives. Movement is a fabulous form of expression when communicating about a cancer diagnosis is difficult.
Sara says to anyone that is thinking about stepping out of their comfort zone, it’s worth booking on a beginner’s class. There’s something for everyone and it’s a great way to get fitter. There’s no competition or designer gear. Educational workshops, team building and celebrations are also catered for.
