Lynne was born in Leeds, and grew up in South Africa returning to the UK 20 years ago. Lynne was diagnosed with Breast cancer at age 40, with two young children. Her first operation was in South Africa and the second operation was at the start of Covid in 2020, this time at St James' Leeds.  She is one of the lucky ones who has conquered cancer twice.

Lynne has now retired from teaching. She taught English and ICT in Higher Education at Kirklees College and was a Curriculum Manager at Omega Training.

Lynne enjoys sewing and embroidery and runs a monthly quilting group. She is also on the committee of the Horbury WI, as a secretary where they make many items that are donated to raise money for charity.

About My Breast Cancer Support

Our Mission

What We've Achieved

How It All Began

To support, empower, and connect individuals affected by breast cancer, promoting health, wellness, and a sense of community beyond clinical treatment.

How It All Began

What We've Achieved

How It All Began

Inspired by a conversation with a consultant who recognised the need for patient-focused support, we started as a small group and have grown into a vibrant community. Our growth reflects the pressing need for holistic support in the local area, addressing both the physical and emotional aspects of recovery.

What We've Achieved

What We've Achieved

What We've Achieved

Since our inception, we've expanded our Wellness Days, collaborated with local charities, and contributed over £350,000 back into the community. Our programmes and events continue to provide essential support to breast cancer patients and their networks.
